How to put formulas on your TI-84 Plus CE

  1. Check your OS: press 2ND then +, then 1. On OS 5.5 or newer, follow the setup guide once.
  2. Open a subject and press Put this on my TI-84 Plus CE. The sheet loads into the notes editor.
  3. Cut what you don’t need, add your teacher’s examples, and check the calculator preview.
  4. Check out. Up to 300 words is free; 301 to 10,000 words is $3.
  5. Send the ZIP from your email with TI Connect CE, or with the Send to calculator button (beta, Chrome or Edge) in step 4 of the guide.

The notes are stored in Archive, so a RAM clear won’t erase them. On the calculator, search any word to jump to it.

Common questions

How do I put formulas on my TI-84 Plus CE?

Pick a subject below and press its button. The sheet opens in the CiNotes notes editor, where you can change anything. Check out, and you get a ZIP by email. Send it to the calculator with TI Connect CE, or with the Send to calculator button (beta, Chrome or Edge) in the setup guide. Then open the notes and search for any word.

Is there a free way to do this?

Yes. You can type formulas into a program on the calculator or in TI Connect CE for free, and our guide to putting notes on a TI-84 shows how. With CiNotes, typed notes are free up to 300 words, so a trimmed-down sheet costs nothing. The full sheets here are 500 to 800 words, which is a one-time $3.

Can I put two subjects in one order?

Yes. Open the second subject’s button and it’s added next to the first in the editor. One order of typed notes can hold up to 10,000 words in total for $3, so you can combine several sheets and add your own notes.

Which calculators does it work on?

The TI-84 Plus CE and the TI-84 Plus CE Python. Not the TI-84 Evo or black-and-white TI-84s. On OS 5.5 or newer, the calculator needs a free one-time setup first; the setup guide shows the steps.

Will the notes survive a RAM clear?

Yes. They’re stored in Archive, so a RAM clear won’t erase them. On OS 5.5 or newer, open AsmHook2 from the APPS menu once after a RAM clear, then open your notes.
